business of a new born child is to sleep, eat and cry. When they grow a little bit older, they interchange the cry with gradual talking and play.

Note that too much of the cry may have a sinister meaning. Too much of the cry may mean they are ill, having discomfort-like poop or urine in their diaper or simply they are not comfortable with the environment.

It may appear difficult to understand your newborn initially but with time you would be able to cipher the cause of the cry.

Note certain thing cause cry in a newborn

• Soaked/soiled diaper- certainly this is a very common cause. Regularly change the soaked or soiled diaper whether disposable type or towel type. It is necessary to wash the bottom with soap and warm water ,allow it to dry up before wearing clean diaper.
• Hunger- remember, newborn are not the three square meal type they are the decagon kind. They feed as many time as possible. That is part of their “work”- eat, sleep and shout out routine.
• Illness /discomfort- you must be sensitive to this. It may mean death if you are not an observant individual. Many times they may simply have colic which you must know how to soothe.
